Fun games to play on the phone

  • "Blues Clues" or "I Spy"
  • Letterman (the common game name of Hangman isn't very child friendly)
  • "Go Fish!" card game
  • "Crazy Eights" card game
  • "Counting" card game
  • Yatzee!
  • Create word Search Puzzles.  Here is a program that is our favorite "Word Search Construction Kit 4".

Homework

  • Buy your child a fax machine! One of the best investments I made was for a fax machine. I highly recommend it. When you get one, set it up with your child and teach them how to use it as well as how to set it up when they get back home to their other parent. It can be used to send homework to you, signed homework sent back to your child, love notes or drawings, puzzles, etc. Be sure to tell the other parent that you will buy all paper and ink for it to avoid any possible rejection from them.

Movie Favorites

  • Finding Nemo
  • Shrek
  • Monsters Inc.
  • Spy Kids 1
  • Flubber
  • Kindergarden Cop
  • The Santa Claus

Appropriate Children Movies??

I find following seemingly children movies, not appropriate for my child.

  • Austin Powers
  • Dr. Doo Little (with Eddie Murphy)

Misc Stuff

  • Create an interactive web site that you continuously add things to and then send it on CD to your kids.  This went over so well that I had to give the nieces, nephews, and neighbor kids a copy!
